Our morning schedule is based on observations at lab schools such a UC Berkeley and the Harvard School of Early Childhood Education, where children thrive in a mixed age, mixed teacher environment.

The children are outside for half the morning, then inside for the second half, with snack time and circle time. We find the children love all being together as a school family, where they play outside in the shade of our elm tree, with the hose on, creating a lake, running, climbing, being creative or reading books, just having the freedom to do as they please. Inside we are offer structure with a sit down snack time and story/music time, while still offering free range activities.

The beauty is they are still preschoolers so there is plenty of play, make believe, open ended projects, as well as learning Zoo phonics, printing skills, math and science. They will leave us to enter Kindergarten at the top of their class. It is a special experience, with 20 children and 2 teachers, creating an balance of learning what is needed for their big transition as well as giving them this year to learn through play.

Morning Program meets from 9 a.m. until 12:00 noon, with extended care from 8 a.m. till 9 a.m. and 12:00 noon till 1 p.m. for $10.00 an hour. Morning children can also stay all day until 5 p.m. for an all day charge.

Pre-K meets from 12:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. They can also attend in the mornings, space permitting, as well as come for lunch from 12:00 noon till 12:30 p.m. for $5.00, or stay from 3:30 p.m. till 5:00 p.m. for $15.00.
